By connecting to the wireless network, I unconditionally accept all the terms of use of the Internet access service.

Ι. General

1. Each user of the Service is responsible for and guarantees that the Service is used in accordance with the law, good faith, and accepted commercial and moral practices.

2. Your connection is provided “as is.” No right or claim arises against the Municipality of Athens in relation to this provision.

3. Your access speed depends on various factors (your closest access point, your distance from one of our access points, the number of users connected simultaneously, the current actual speed, and the load on our network).

4. For purposes of internal operation, training, and the collection of statistical data, the Municipality of Athens may record and retain any technical details of the User’s use of the Service. The Municipality of Athens will always act in accordance with the applicable legislation in force and these terms.

ΙΙ. Security & Liability

1. The User bears sole responsibility for the security of the system and equipment used to access the Internet, as well as for any violation, improper use, or disclosure of confidential information.

2. The User must not violate, in particular, the provisions of Law 2251/94 “On Consumer Protection,” Law 2121/92 on intellectual property, Law 2472/97 on data protection, and Law 2774/1999 on data protection in the telecommunications sector, as well as the corresponding Directives and recommendations of the European Union and other international organizations, etc.

3. Furthermore, it is prohibited to distribute illegal and harmful content; to install or send virus programs; to distribute pornographic or violent content; to engage in acts constituting illegal access or attempted access to computer systems of the Municipality of Athens or third parties; to engage in mass sending of unsolicited electronic mail for commercial or non-commercial purposes (spamming); or to omit actions required to prevent the sending of spam.

4. The wireless network of the Municipality of Athens is designed to serve many users for short periods of time and therefore its use for professional purposes, such as real-time event retransmission (live streaming), is not recommended.

5. In the event that the Municipality of Athens suffers damage in any way due to acts or omissions of the User, the latter is obliged to fully compensate for any damage, and the Municipality of Athens is entitled to summon the User as a procedural guarantor in the relevant proceedings.

6. The User acknowledges that the Internet is an open environment, that they are solely responsible for safeguarding their personal data, and that they must act with heightened diligence by taking the necessary security measures to prevent illegal use of the network by third parties, whether authorized or not.

7. Due to the nature of the wireless network, avoid transmitting sensitive personal data (PINs, credit card numbers, passwords, etc.) unless the appropriate security protocol (https, ftps, etc.) is enabled.

8. By accessing the wireless network, you accept that you are part of a shared network with other users and for this reason particular attention must be paid to folders and files that are shared. In addition, the installation of a firewall on your computer is recommended.

9. Technical support is NOT provided by the Municipality of Athens.

ΙΙΙ. Disclaimer of Liability

1. The Municipality of Athens bears no liability for any damage and/or harm suffered by the user and/or any third party due to the temporary and/or permanent interruption of the Service.

2. The Municipality of Athens does not guarantee that the provision of the Service will be continuous, timely, secure, error-free, or that the Service will be available at any time.

3. The Municipality of Athens bears no liability if the user uses the Service in an offensive, abusive, dishonest, obscene, annoying manner, or in any way that contravenes accepted moral standards and/or the law and/or violates the rights of any third party.

4. The Municipality of Athens bears no liability for the user’s browsing of any content and/or website and/or advertisement of any third party via the Service.

IV. Amendment / Revision

1. The provision of the Service is subject to the policies, practices, and procedures of the Municipality of Athens.

2. The Municipality of Athens reserves the right to amend and/or revise the Terms at its sole discretion.

V. Law / Jurisdiction / Dispute Resolution

1. The use of the Service and these terms are governed by and construed in accordance with Greek law.

2. Exclusive jurisdiction for the resolution of any dispute arising from the use of the Service and/or the application of these terms shall lie with the competent courts of Athens.
